Abstract

The symptomatology and course o{ cardiovascular disease is modified by age and there are several forms of heart disease specific to old age.
Congestive heart failure is a common and often complex problem. With accurate diagnosis and careful treatment the prognosis is relatively good.
Precipitating factors, underlying factors, diagnosis and treatment of congestive heart failure in the old are reviewed.
